Coaxial RF (radio frequency) switches are an important component in a variety of electronic devices and systems. They are used to route RF signals from one path to another, allowing for signal switching and distribution.
One of the main advantages of Konnect RF coaxial RF switches is their high isolation. This means that when the switch is in the “off” position, there is very little signal leakage between the input and output ports.Another advantage of our coaxial RF switches is their low insertion loss. This means that when the switch is in the “on” position, there is very little signal loss as the signal passes through the switch.
Coaxial RF switches are available in a variety of configurations, including single-pole single-throw (SPST), single-pole double-throw (SPDT), and multiple-pole multiple-throw (MPMT). SPST switches have one input and one output, and are used to switch between two different signals. SPDT switches have one input and two outputs, and are used to switch a single signal between two different paths. MPMT switches have multiple inputs and multiple outputs, and are used to switch multiple signals between different paths.
Coaxial RF switches are also available in a variety of frequency ranges. Some switches are designed for use in lower frequency applications, such as in the VHF or UHF bands. Other switches are designed for use in higher frequency applications, such as in the microwave or millimeter wave bands. The frequency range of a switch is determined by the materials and construction of the switch, and is specified in the switch’s datasheet.
Coaxial RF switches can be controlled manually or remotely. Manually controlled switches are typically operated by a toggle switch or a rotary switch. Remotely controlled switches are typically operated by a control signal, such as a voltage or current. Remotely controlled switches are often used in automated test equipment or in systems that require remote control.
